CUSTOMER INFORMATION SHEET
- Sanitation
hours are Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- Recycling
hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Recycling
is available at 13 different sites located throughout the county Trailer Location
- Holidays
– Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day only

If your garbage day falls on or after those
days, we will be one day late.

All others days and Holidays set your garbage
out on your regular day
- All
garbage should be set out by our starting time to insure that it is picked
up.
- Do not
count on a time during the day for pick-up. Trucks break down and others
may have to fill in at a different time of day
- Freezer
goes out? DO NOT put
items in garbage cans and let cans sit out in the summer heat. Call office
for instructions
- Diabetic!
Please put syringes hypodermitic needles in a two liter coffee can with
lid. DO NOT PUT IN GARBAGE LOOSE.
- We ask
that you please bag all garbage for litter control and sanitation reasons
- We
will pick up some loose garbage in a 32 gal can only. (not to exceed 25-30
lbs)
- We ask
that you buy cans with molded on handles(snaps on handles will break)
- We
will pull bagged garbage from larger cans (60-90 gal roll around carts)
but we will NEVER PICK the cans up. (Big cans were made for
automated trucks)
- We
will not pick up 50 gallon drums with loose garbage. Will pull bags only
- It may
be necessary to drill holes in the bottom of can to let water escape.
(cans full of water)
- We do
not pick-up construction debris or yard waste (cannot mix with household
waste).
- County
commissioners offer clean-up during Spring and Fall (usually April and
September).
- Clean-up
is for larger items that route garbage will not pick up. Call office for
specific times or
watch
paper. We do not pick-up hazardous chemicals, wet paint, motor oil, batteries
(fire
hazard). Decatur City offers Chemicollection

- Dumpster
service is available for businesses. Call for pricing
- We
serve approximately 17,000 customers weekly. 3400 customers daily. 425
customers per truck each day (8 trucks)
- We
humbly ask that you have consideration and respect for your sanitation
worker.
