Responds to:

1- complaints concerning injured animals
2- dogs and livestock running at large
3- cruelty, abuse, and/or neglect welfare checks
4- stray pickups (dogs only)

Morgan Animal Control works in accordance to Alabama State Law
Cats and fowl require NO confinement in the State of Alabama.

Morgan County Animal Shelter

Is open to the public Monday through Friday 10:00-4:00. The shelter is closed Saturday and Sunday.

The animal shelter is a public facility, which provides shelter to stray, abandoned, abused, or owner surrendered dogs and cats.

Adoption Fees:
Dogs: $110 includes spay/neuter and first round of vaccines
Cats: $80 includes spay/neuter and first round of vaccines

FAQs

• How long are animals held before they can be adopted?
Stray animals are held for 7 days in accordance to State Law to give the owner time to find and claim animal(s). After this the animal(s) may be placed for adoption.
• How much does it cost to drop off an animal at the shelter?
Morgan County does not charge a fee to drop off a stray or owner surrenders.
• Can I bring my animal(s) to the Animal Shelter to be euthanized?
Morgan County Animal Control/Shelter does not euthanize for the public.
